tones poly The result has nice gradation and a good range of tones, but it is not suitable for coloring. Figure 2 is the same combination, with a # 1 filter. There is a modest reduction in contrast, but it is still far from what my wife wanted. After some preliminary experiments, I settled on three development times (1. 5, 2, and 3 minutes), and two dilutions (full strength and 1:3). Figures 3 through 8 show the results, using Polyprint with no filter. Figure 3, full strength for three minutes, is remarkably similar to Figure 2, but the shadows are a little more open and the color is a little warmer. Figures 4 and 5 show the effect of shortening the development time.
